Two auspicious dreams

Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) was once blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream.

In the dream, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) lovingly placed three dates in the mouth of Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe). Thereafter, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) fed Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) with great affection and care.

Upon awakening, Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) felt the sweet taste of dates in his mouth. Shortly afterwards, the goodness of both this world and of the hereafter started to manifest in the life of Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe).

After some time, Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) saw Hazrat Ali (radi Allah unhu) and Hazrat Fatima (radi Allah unha) in a dream. In the dream, Hazrat Ali (radi Allah unhu) gave Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) a bath just as a father would give his son a bath. Afterwards, Hazrat Fatima (radi Allah unha) dressed Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe) in an attire of exquisite and unparalleled quality.

From that time onwards, the great ideals of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) started to materialize in the life of Syed Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihe).

Dream of a Mureed

Hazrat Shah Abu Syed Mujaddedi (rahmatullahi alaihe) took over the Khankah (convent) of Hazrat Shah Golam Ali (rahmatullahi alaihe) after his demise.

Once, a quarrel arose in the Khankah. During this time, one Mureed (disciple) of the Khankah had a dream. In the dream, the Mureed saw that there was an assembly at the august court of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). The Mureed further saw that the matter of the quarrel was being placed before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). In the dream, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) ordered certain individuals to be expelled from the Khankah.

The Mureed became frightened in case the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) mentioned his name to be expelled from the Khankah. He woke up because of this fear.

The Mureed then proceeded to bring water for Hazrat Abu Syed (rahmatullahi alaihe) to prepare for the Tahajjud salaat (late night prayer). During this time, Hazrat Abu Syed (rahmatullahi alaihe) commented: “Why are you afraid? The Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) did not mention your name.” In the morning, Hazrat Abu Syed (rahmatullahi alaihe) expelled those individuals from the Khankah whose names were mentioned by the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in the dream.

Hazrat Abu Syed (rahmatullahi alaihe) was born in 1196 Hijri. He passed away in 1250 Hijri in a place called Tok. It was Saturday on a day of Eid. He was brought to Delhi to be buried beside his spiritual predecessors.

Dream of Ibn Sabuni

Abu Muhammad Al Arjaq Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrates that he once accompanied his mother and niece to Egypt where his brother Abu Yakub used to live.

On his way to Egypt, Abu Muhammad Ambari’s (rahmatullahi alaihe) caravan was robbed. The robbers took everything. Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) and his fellow travelers faced extreme hardship because of the robbery. In particular, the travelers suffered from hunger and thirst. During this time, Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) met a camel rider. The camel rider agreed to take Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) and fellow travelers to Damascus in exchange of some money.

Once in Damascus, Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) found that one individual was repeatedly calling his name. The individual paid the camel rider his fare once Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) introduced himself to the individual. The individual took Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe), his mother and niece to his residence and treated them well.

Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) stayed at the residence of the individual for three days. Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) thought that the individual must be a friend of his brother Abu Yakub and that his brother must have written to his friend to receive him in Damascus. However, during his departure from Damascus, Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) came to know that the individual did not know his brother at all.

The individual stated that he was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “Oh Ibn Sabuni! Look for Abu Muhammad Ebnul Ambari. Treat him well. Help him to reach his destination.” Upon awakening, Ibn Sabuni looked for Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe).

Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) was surprised to hear the dream account. He (rahmatullahi alaihe) started on his way to Egypt after receiving a generous pocket allowance from Ibn Sabuni for his journey.

Once in Egypt, Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrated this incident to his brother. On his return from Egypt to Damascus, Abu Muhammad Ambari (rahmatullahi alaihe) found Ibn Sabuni in extreme poverty.

Because of this, Abu Muhammad Ambari’s (rahmatullahi alaihe) brother Abu Yakub donated his valuable property in Egypt to Ibn Sabuni.

"May your seven children rule as kings after you."

Amir Ismai’l Ibn Ahmad Samani was the king of Khorasan. His elder brother Amir Ishak was part of the royal court.

One day, Shaykhul Islam Muhammad Ibn Nasr Maruzi (rahmatullahi alaihe) of Bukhara came to Amir Ismai’l because of some need. In order to show proper respect to Muhammad Ibn Nasr Maruzi (rahmatullahi alaihe), the Amir walked seven steps to receive Muhammad Ibn Nasr Maruzi (rahmatullahi alaihe).

Amir Ishak did not like the respect showed by his brother to Muhammad Ibn Nasr Maruzi (rahmatullahi alaihe). Amir Ishak told his brother that to show such respect was below the dignity of a king. Amir Ishak further added that everyone had a limit to get respect from the king.

In response, Amir Ismai’l stated: “I showed respect to Shaykhul Islam because of his Ilm (knowledge), for Ilm is the highest achievement and the greatest of all stations.”

On the same night, Amir Ismai’l was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream.

In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “You have honoured an Alim from my Ummah. I pray to Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a for the permanence of your name and your family in this world. May your seven children rule as kings after you. May your brother’s family end and may none of his children rule as kings.”

The healing dream of a Muhaddese

It is stated in Hadith that whoever applies hijaamah (cupping) on Wednesday or on Saturday will be responsible for his conditions if he develops leucoderma.

One Muhaddese considered this Hadith as weak and went on to apply hijaamah on Saturday. He was afflicted with leucoderma immediately. Because of this, the Muhaddese became extremely worried and embarrassed.

On one auspicious night, the Muhaddese was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Muhaddese narrated his conditions. At this, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) asked: “Why did not you follow the Hadith?” The Muhaddese replied: “The narrator of this Hadith was weak.” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) then asked: “But the question is did he not narrate the Hadith on my behalf?” At this, the Muhaddese replied: “I am very much ashamed and repentant for this. I ask for forgiveness.”

In the dream, the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) prayed for the recovery of the Muhaddese. Upon awakening, the Muhaddese found that he was completely cured.

This incident proves beyond doubt that a matter will be endowed with barakah only if the blessed name of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) is associated with it.
