In “Holiatul Aulia”, Hafiz Abu Naeem Isfahani (rahmatullahi alaihe) discusses Imam Malik (rahmatullahi alaihe). Sahal ibn Mojahem was one of the most pious men of his time whose company included Abdullah Ibn Mubarak (rahmatullahi alaihe).
Sahal ibn Mojahem narrates that one day he saw the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. He asked: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! Your auspicious time has left us. Whom should we turn to if we have questions regarding Islam?” The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “If you are confronted with any question, then go to Malik ibn Anas for an answer.”
