Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. [Al-Ahzab (33:56)]

"Muhammad Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihe Wa Sallam."

It is written in a book entitled “Tatarkhania” that there was once a committee in Baghdad. The committee was called “Umra Committee.”

One of the goals of this committee was to help individuals in need of money through donation from the members. A Muslim once required 5000 in local currency. The committee decided to raise money through contribution from the members. During this time, a fire worshipper came up to the Muslim in need and gave him, in total secrecy, 5000 to pay off debts and another 5000 to start a business.

In the night, the fire worshipper was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “You have removed the difficulties of a Muslim. May Allah accept your endeavour.” At this, the individual asked: “May I know your identity?” The Beloved of Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “Muhammad Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihe Wa Sallam.” At this, the individual immediately accepted Islam at the blessed hand of the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). In the morning, the individual went to the central mosque and narrated this incident to everyone.

Tebrani (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrates that the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated that it is the duty of Muslims to show camaraderie, good will, and compassion towards each other and to live life as part of a body whereas if there is pain in one part of the body, then the pain is felt throughout the body.

Tebrani (rahmatullahi alaihe) states, after this narrating this Hadith, that he was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Tebrani (rahmatullahi alaihe) asked about the authenticity of this particular Hadith. At this, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) gestured with his blessed hand and stated: “Correct. Correct.”

Dream of Hazrat Abu Abdullah Maghribi

Hazrat Abu Abdullah Maghribi narrates that on one auspicious night, he was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream.

In the dream, Hazrat Abu Abdullah Maghribi stated: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! I have a need. Which dua should I recite for my need?” The Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “Offer two rakaats of salaat. In each of four sajdahs, recite this dua forty times:

لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Dirhams from the dream

Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrates that he lived in the wilderness for about three months. This greatly affected his health. His skin was badly damaged.

Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) then came to Madinah al-Munawara. He proceeded to give his salaam at the Rouza (the blessed grave). After this, he fell asleep inside the mosque. During this time, Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream.

In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “Ahmad, you have come! What is your condition?” At this, Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) stated: “I am famished. I am your guest.” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) then stated: “Open your palm.” The Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) gave Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) some dirhams when he opened his palm in the dream.

Upon awakening, Ahmad Ibn Sufi (rahmatullahi alaihe) discovered the dirhams in his palm. Afterwards, he went to the market, bought and ate some food. He then returned to his residence.

Benefits of Durood in abundance

Abdur Rahim Ibn Abdur Rahman narrates that he was once very seriously hurt after he fell in the bath. He developed pain and swelling because of the fall. As a consequence, it became increasingly difficult for Abdur Rahman to rest and sleep at night.

One night when Abdur Rahman fell asleep momentarily, he was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, Abdur Rahman only stated: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! At this, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied without delay: “Your recital of Durood in abundance has made me restless.”

Abdur Rahman woke up after this. His pain had already gone by this time.

Visions of the the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in waking life

Allama Hafez Abdur Rahman Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) writes that once an individual asked him to go to Sultan Kayetobayi with some requests.

Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) told the individual that in the past he was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) some 75 times. Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) about Hadith both in dreams and in waking life. Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) informed the individual that he was reluctant to go to the Sultan lest he was deprived of the vision of the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) added that he attached more priority and importance to the visions of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) than attaining closeness to the Sultan.

Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) was born in a place called Suyut on the 1st day of Rajab, 849 Hijri. He passed away in 911 Hijri or in 1505 of the Gregorian calendar. Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) is called “Khatemul Huffaz”. He has composed about 500 books and treatises.

Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti (rahmatullahi alaihe) had the rare distinction to see the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) some 35 times while awake. He stated that reciting Durood Shareef in greater numbers was the reason that he had come to see the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) many times in waking life.

"An individual will get results according to his intention"

Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin narrates that he heard some Hadith in the waking world from the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin narrates that he purchased food and related provisions for Maolana Shamsuddin who was resident in Makkah al-Mukarramah. Some individuals considered Maolana Shamsuddin as a hoarder of foods. Hoarding food in Islam is not permitted.

During this time, Hazrat Syed Jalaluddin was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in the waking world. The Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “What people say about Maolana Shamsuddin is not correct. A hoarder of food is cursed when the hoarding harms the general population. He hoards food for his spiritual mentors. An individual will get results according to his intention.”

Dream brings food for three Muhaddith

Renowned Muhaddith (scholar of Hadith) Muhammad Ibn Nasr Maruzi (rahmatullahi alaihe), Muhammad Ibn Jarir (rahmatullahi alaihe) and Muhammad Ibn Monhar (rahmatullahi alaihe) were once in a house in Egypt compiling Hadith Shareef.

They faced extreme difficulties with their work because of the lack of food. One of the Muhaddith was entrusted with the responsibility to arrange food. This individual offered salaat and prayed to the Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a to remove their wants.

During this time, the Amir of Egypt was taking a nap. The Amir was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “The three Muhaddith do not have any food.”

Upon awakening, the Amir located the three Muhaddith. Afterwards, the Amir sent one thousand gold coins to the three Muhaddith.

"Arrange your hair with a comb"

Hazrat Maolana Jalaluddin Abu Iajid Borani (rahmatullahi alaihe) did not have any spiritual mentor. He was an Owaisi.

Hazrat Khawza Fariduddin (rahmatullahi alaihe) states that one group of Aulias (the chosen friends of Allah) are called Owaisis. Individuals from this group do not require any spiritual mentors since the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) himself takes care of them. An individual who belonged to this group was Hazrat Owaes Karni (rahmatullahi alaihe). Membership in this group is a great privilege. Not everyone is fortunate to belong to this select group. Only individuals upon whom Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a has special mercy can belong to this group.

Hazrat Maolana Jalaluddin Abu Iajid Borani (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrated that whenever he was confronted with any difficulties, he would have solutions by the wasila (intervention) of the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). Once he asked his friends to give him a comb because the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) had called him and stated: “Oh Abu Iajid! Arrange your hair with a comb sometimes since this is part of my Sunnah.”

A gift for Hazrat Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe)

Hazrat Sheikh Ahmad Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrates that one day in a dream he saw that he was present at the holy gathering of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

In the dream, a beautiful and well-dressed woman was present. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) smiled and stated: “Oh Ahmad! Accept this woman.” At this, Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) replied: “I do not have the permission of my father.” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) then pointed towards Hazrat Ali (radi Allah unhu) and stated: “Look, your father is here.” In the dream, Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) saw that his spiritual father Hazrat Ali (radi Allah unhu) was standing nearby and was looking at him in utter amazement. Hazrat Ali (radi Allah unhu) looked at Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) and stated: “Why do you not obey the words of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)? This is great insolence.” At this, Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) accepted the gift without delay.

From that day on, Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a opened the door of his blessings for Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe). The emperors and rulers of the world started to come to the door of Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) to seek blessings.

Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) states that the beautiful woman in the dream was Dunya or this world. The great wealth that subsequently came to Ganj Bakhsh (rahmatullahi alaihe) was nothing but a gift from the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

Benefits of Durood-e-Tunajjina

Citing “Fazre Munir”, Ibn Faikihani writes in “Manahejul Hasanat” that there was a very pious Muslim called Sheikh Saleh Moosa Jareer.

Sheikh Jareer narrates that once he went on a voyage aboard a ship. At one point, the ship was about to sink in the ocean because of inclement weather.

During this time, Sheikh Jareer was overcome with slumber and was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) taught Sheikh Jareer Durood-e-Tunajjina. Afterwards, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “Tell the passengers of the ship to recite this Durood Shareef 1000 times.”

Upon awakening, Sheikh Jareer advised all to recite this Durood Shareef. The conditions dramatically improved after the passengers recited the Durood Shareef only 300 times. Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a saved the ship from sinking because of the blessings of this Durood Shareef.

The following is the Durood Shareef:

Allahumma salli ala sayyidina wa maulana muhammadiw wa ala aali sayyidina wa maulana muhammadin salaatan tunajjina biha min jami'il ahwaali wal'afaati wa taqdilana biha min jami'il haajaati wa tutahiruna biha min jami'is sayyiaati wa tarfa'una biha aa'lad darajaati wa tuballighuna biha aqsal ghaayaati min jami'il khairaati fil hayaati wa ba'dal mamaati innaka ala kulli shayyin qadeer bi rahmatiqa ya arhamar raaheemin

The dreams start again

Sheikh Muhammad Abul Muahed Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) was once deprived of the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in dreams. When Sheikh Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) was blessed again with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream, he asked: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! What wrong have I done?” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “You do not deserve my vision as you disclose my secrets to others.”

Sheikh Muhammad Abul Muahed Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) states that he narrated some of his dreams to one of his brothers. Sheikh Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) subsequently repented and vowed never to tell any one about the dreams.

Afterwards, Sheikh Muhammad Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) was blessed again with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in dreams.

An opening above the Rouza of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)

Once there was severe drought in Madinah al-Munawara.

During this time, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) appeared in a dream of Hazrat Aisha (radi Allah unha). In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) instructed Hazrat Aisha (radi Allah unha) to make an opening in the ceiling of the house that contained the Rouza-e-Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

After this, an opening was made in the ceiling just above the Rouza. The opening effectively removed the barrier between the Rouza and the sky. It started to rain heavily immediately after the opening was created. The rains subsequently produced abundant harvest. The camels were well-fed and they became so plump that it seemed that their skins would rupture. The year was named as “Al-Fotaq”, meaning a year full of rich crops and lush vegetation.

The opening above the Rouza of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) is present to this day.

"Al Hisnul Hasin" author is blessed with an auspicious dream

“Al Hisnul Hasin” is a collection of dua’s or supplications of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

“Al Hisnul Hasin” was compiled by Hazrat Allamah Muhammed Ibn Muhammed Jazri Shafi’ee Dameski. He completed the book in his Madrasah on the 22nd day of Dhu al-Hijja, 691 Hijri. At the time the book was completed, there was widespread unrest in Damascus because of Taimur Long. There were murder and mayhem in the city and in the surrounding suburbs. Water supply was shut down. Every one feared for their property and life.

The author of “Al Hisnul Hasin”, Hazrat Jazri, had a sworn enemy. During this time of widespread disorder, the enemy was actively looking for the author. The author secluded himself and entered into a sanctuary for his protection. In other words, Hazrat Jazri started to recite “Al Hisnul Hasin” on a regular basis.

After a few days, the author was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) asked Hazrat Jazri: “What do you want?” Hazrat Jazri replied: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! Please pray for me and for all other Muslims.” At this, the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) raised his two blessed hands and prayed.

Hazrat Jazri was blessed with this dream on Thursday. By Sunday night, the enemy had fled. This is the barakah or blessings of the Hadith that are contained in “Al Hisnul Hasin.” Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a removed the troubles of Allamah Muhammed Ibn Jazri and all other Muslims because of this blessed book.

“I am looking for Ruhuj Jahab.”

Al-Haj Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) was the father of Al-Haj Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi. Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) was a very pious and devout Muslim. He was a long-time resident of Delhi. He used to maintain cordial ties with Jahangir Mamnari (rahmatullahi alaihe). Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) was the spiritual successor to Hazrat Shah Fazle Rahman Ganje Muradabadi (rahmatullahi alaihe).

In 1935 A.D., Al-Haj Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe), accompanied by his son, went to Makkah al-Mukarramah. After duly completing the Hajj, the two arrived in Madinah al-Munawara.

During this time, Maolana Abdul Baki Farizi Mahalli Lakhnabi (rahmatullahi alaihe) used to narrate Hadith at the Masjid-e-Nabvi. Maolana Abdul Baki (rahmatullahi alaihe) became very weak at that time. Because of weakness, it became difficult for him to narrate Hadith. Maolana Abdul Baki (rahmatullahi alaihe) informed Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) that he wanted to continue narrating Hadith until the last day of his life. Maolana Abdul Baki (rahmatullahi alaihe) further added that because of his weakness, it was difficult for him to go about his daily life. The Maolana requested Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) to bring effective medication from the blind Hakim (a Muslim physician) so that he could continue narrating Hadith for the rest of his life.

Syed Ali Ashraf Sabuhi (rahmatullahi alaihe) remained in Madinah al-Munawara. He sent his son to Delhi to bring the medication.

Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi narrated everything to the blind Hakim Maolana Hafez Abdul Wahab Ansari. The Hakim gave a bottle of medication called “Ruhuj Jahab.” The bottle of medication was duly carried back to Madinah al-Munawara.

Some 20-25 days after this, Hakim Maolana Hafez Abdul Wahab Ansari was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Hakim saw that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) was giving his blessed attention to the medicine cabinet of the Hakim. At this, Hakim Maolana Ansari asked: “Oh Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam)! What are you looking at?” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “I am looking for Ruhuj Jahab.” At this, Maolana Hakim replied: “There is none left.” The Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “Prepare more and send them for Abdul Baki.”

Upon awakening, Hakim Maolana Ansari started to think with whom to send the medications to Madinah al-Munawara. He discussed this matter with a renowned business man in Delhi called Al-Haj Alijan. During the discussion, Al-Haj Alijan mentioned the name of Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi whose father was still staying in Madinah al Munawara. Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi subsequently came to see Hakim Maolana Ansari. Maolana Ansari narrated his dream to Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi. This way, additional bottles of “Ruhuj Jahab” was sent to Maolana Abdul Baki (rahmatullahi alaihe).

Hakim Maolana Ansari became overjoyed at the fact that the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) mentioned the medication in the dream. Muhammed Abdul Majid Siddiqui included this incident in his book after he learned about it directly from Muhammed Ashraf Sabuhi.

The Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) gives his attention to Hazrat Saber (rahmatullahi alaihe)

Once Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (rahmatullahi alaihe) prepared food to be distributed in remembrance of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).

The attendants wanted to distribute the food among the people after all preparations were complete. However, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (rahmatullahi alaihe) instructed his attendants not to distribute the food at that time. After some time, the attendants asked permission to distribute the food. Again, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (rahmatullahi alaihe) instructed his attendants to wait and not to distribute the food.

At this, one of the attendants asked the reasons for the delay. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (rahmatullahi alaihe) replied: “I could not give instruction to distribute the food because I came to observe that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) was looking when my brother Ali Ahmed Saber was distributing fried chick peas among the people. Because of this, I did not like to distribute the food at the time. I desired to distribute the food when the Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) would give his kind attention to us.”

The distribution of food by Hazrat Saber (rahmatullahi alaihe) was such a pious act that the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) gave his blessed attention there.

In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) looked at Abul Muahed Shajoli (rahmatullahi alaihe) and remarked: “I do not appear to an individual who does not leave from an assembly of men where there is backbiting.”
