"Name the book Najmussuluk."

Sheikh Ebnul Farez Homobi el Misori (rahmatullahi alaihe) was also known as Omar. He was related to the Sa’ad clan. He was also the grandfather of Haleema as-Sa'diyyah, the wet nurse of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). Sheikh Ebnul Farez (rahmatullahi alaihe) was born in Egypt.

The collection of his poems is called “Qasidah e Nasiriya Farezia.” The collection contains some seven hundred and fifty verses.

Sheikh Farez (rahmatullahi alaihe) narrates that after the completion of the book, he was blessed with the auspicious vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, Beloved Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) asked: “What name have you given to this book?” Sheikh Farez (rahmatullahi alaihe) stated: “Laoaehul Jenan.” At this, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) stated: “No. Name the book Najmussuluk.”

This book was not composed in the ordinary manner. The book which contained deep spiritual messages and insights was compiled in an extraordinary way. Sheikh Farez would (rahmatullahi alaihe) lose consciousness at times while he was composing the book. He would then compose thirty to forty verses at a stretch after he regained consciousness.

Sheikh Farez wrote down the mysteries of Hikmah and Marefat revealed to him by Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a. This is how this amazing book was completed.
