A miraculous incident

It is narrated that a very pious individual by the name of Marwah Ibn Makbal used to live in Cairo. He was the descendant of Imam Hussein (alahis salaam). The ruler of Cairo once became very angry with Marwah Ibn Makbal. The ruler ordered his guards to insert hot iron rods into the eyes of Marwah Ibn Makbal as a punishment.

After a long time, Marwah Ibn Makbal got the opportunity to visit Madinah al-Munawara. Once in Madinah al-Munawara, he came and stood before the Rouza-e-Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) and narrated his conditions.

On the same night, Marwah Ibn Makbal was blessed with the vision of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) gently rubbed his blessed palm over the eyes of Marwah Makbal. After he woke up, Marwah Makbal found to his amazement that his eyes were completely healed and his eyesight restored. This particular event became well known in Madinah al-Munawara.

Over the course of time, the ruler of Cairo came to learn that Marwah Makbal’s eyes were intact. The ruler thought that his hangmen did not punish Marwah Makbal as they were instructed to do. However, many individuals who had direct knowledge of Marwah Makbal’s conditions testified that he was blind before visiting Madinah al-Munawara. After hearing this, the ruler became ashamed.

This particular incident proves that the mujizas (miracles) of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) continue to take place even though he is no longer with us physically. His mujizas and prophethood will continue until the Day of Judgment.

Endless salaam and Durood upon the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam).
