“Release the murder suspect”

Once upon a time, an individual named Ibrahim Ibn Eshak was the police commissioner of the city of Bagdad.

On one auspicious night, Ibrahim Ibn Eshak saw the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in a dream. In the dream, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) ordered: “Release the murder suspect.”

Upon awakening, Ibrahim Ibn Eshak wanted to know whether there was anyone in the jail on murder charges. It was confirmed that an individual was in the jail on murder charges.

The murder suspect was brought before Ibrahim Ibn Eshak. The police commissioner asked the suspect to narrate the events that brought him to the jail. The suspect stated that he was part of a gang that engaged in wicked and immoral activities every night. An old woman was associated with the gang. Her role was to use deception and trickery to bring innocent women for the gang.

One night, a very beautiful girl was brought before the gang. With great modesty, the girl stated that she was from a very good family and was a direct descendant of the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). She further stated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) was her grandfather and that Hazrat Fatima Zahra (radi Allah unha) was her mother. The girl begged the gang members to let her go. Her words created a profound effect on the murder suspect.

The murder suspect immediately proceeded to release the girl. However, others did not want to release the girl. Instead they wanted to destroy the chastity of the girl. At this, the murder suspect stabbed the culprit who had attacked the girl. In the ensuing fight, the culprit was killed and the suspect was wounded. The suspect motioned to the girl and she escaped. When the crowd gathered, the suspect had blood-stained knife in his hand. He was arrested and taken into custody.

After hearing this, Ibrahim Ibn Eshak released the murder suspect in the name of Allah Subhanahu Wa Tala'a and the Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). Later, the murder suspect repented and led an honest and pious life.
